The opportunity
We are looking for a Contract Manager to join our Christchurch Projects and Interiors team, focused on small to mid-sized projects typically ranging from $10k to $1m.
This role sits between Project Management and Quantity Surveying. You will oversee two to three projects at a time, managing both operational delivery and the commercial side. The work is varied and fast paced, ideal for someone who enjoys moving from project to project rather than being tied to a single long-term build.
Key responsibilities include managing your projects from award to completion, coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors, looking after budgets, tracking costs and variations, and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard. You will also be the main point of contact for clients and consultants, so strong communication and people skills are important.
This role is well suited to someone with a trade background who has moved, or wants to move, into the commercial side of construction. You may be studying QS or construction management, working in a hybrid PM/QS role, or coming from fit out, small works or light commercial environments. We can support the right person to develop their commercial skills and systems knowledge. Over time, the role can lead into Project Management or Quantity Surveying, depending on your interests.
Why work for us
Naylor Love is regarded as one of the best construction companies in New Zealand. We are proud of our heritage and excited about our future. We offer a great place to work, strong development opportunities, and a team environment built on shared values and collaboration.

- Southern Cross medical insurance for you and your whānau (covers pre-existing conditions)
- Paid parental leave
- Annual skin checks, flu vaccinations and health checks
- Children's scholarships for construction-related study
