Build the talent pipelines and recruitment capability behind one of New Zealand's leading construction businesses
Naylor Love is one of New Zealand's largest and most respected national construction companies. With a proud history, strong values and a reputation built on long-term relationships, we are focused on becoming the best and most respected construction company in New Zealand, ever.
As our business continues to grow, our projects are becoming larger, more complex and more geographically diverse. That means finding, engaging and mobilising great people matters more than ever. We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and proactive Recruitment Business Partner to help us build our national recruitment capability and the workforce pipelines needed for the future.
This is a newly created opportunity to make a real impact across the business. You will deliver high-quality recruitment today while helping shape a more proactive, connected and insight-led recruitment approach for the future. Working with leaders across New Zealand, you will turn project and workforce requirements into practical recruitment strategies, talent pipelines and career opportunities.
About the role
In this blended strategic and operational role, you will lead end-to-end recruitment across a geographically dispersed and project-based business. You will partner closely with regional, operational and functional leaders to understand immediate vacancies, future project demand and the critical capabilities we will need as Naylor Love continues to grow.
You will build direct sourcing strategies and talent pools for core roles, strengthen workforce planning, support internal mobility, and help develop our cadetship, apprenticeship and other early-career pipelines.
You will also own the day-to-day administration and optimisation of our ATS (TeamTailor), improve recruitment reporting and analytics, and help create a careers and candidate experience that reflects who we are as a business.
This is not a role for someone who wants to simply manage vacancies as they arise. You will need to get close to the business, build strong relationships with leaders, understand the realities of construction and use your market knowledge to help Naylor Love plan ahead, secure scarce capability and make sound hiring decisions.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality end-to-end recruitment, from role briefing and attraction strategy through sourcing, assessment, selection and handover to onboarding
Build trusted relationships with regional, operational and functional leaders, providing practical advice and market insight
Develop proactive direct-sourcing strategies and maintain talent pools for recurring, specialist and hard-to-fill roles
Translate workforce and project plans into clear recruitment priorities, pipeline activity and longer-term sourcing strategies
Support regional teams as required in the attraction and recruitment of cadets, apprentices and other early-career talent aligned with future workforce requirements
Own and optimise TeamTailor as our applicant tracking system and careers platform, including workflows, templates, data quality, talent pools and reporting
Develop practical recruitment dashboards and insights covering demand, pipeline health, source effectiveness, time to fill, candidate experience and agency use
Improve recruitment processes, tools and leader capability to create greater consistency, pace and quality across the business
Strengthen Naylor Love's employer brand and careers experience through credible content, targeted campaigns and authentic employee and project stories
Deliver a professional, respectful and responsive experience for every candidate
Build productive relationships with education providers, industry bodies, professional networks and specialist recruitment partners
About you
You are an experienced recruitment or talent acquisition professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You know how to move beyond advertising vacancies, find and engage passive talent, build credible pipelines and advise leaders on what the market will support.
You will be comfortable working across multiple regions, projects and stakeholder groups, often balancing competing priorities and challenging recruitment demands. You will bring pace, sound judgement and strong commercial awareness while keeping the candidate and hiring leader experience at the centre of your work.
You will likely bring:
at least ten years' experience in end-to-end recruitment or talent acquisition
experience working in a complex, multi-site, operational or project-based organisation
demonstrated success recruiting across operational, technical, professional and leadership roles
strong direct-sourcing, talent-mapping and talent-pooling capability, including engaging passive candidates
experience partnering with senior and operational leaders on workforce requirements and recruitment priorities
confidence administering and improving an applicant tracking system (TeamTailor experience would be an advantage)
the ability to use recruitment data and analytics to improve decisions, service and process
strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
experience supporting cadet, apprenticeship, graduate or other early-career programmes would be valuable
experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, property, trades or a related project-based industry would be highly regarded.

You will be joining a business with:
