About us
Naylor Love, one of New Zealand's largest and most respected national construction companies, is renowned for its relationship-based approach and commitment to people and values. We are seeking a dynamic People and Culture Business Partner to join our passionate team on a 12-month fixed-term parental cover basis. Ideally the role will be based in our Auckland office, however we're open based in other regions in which we have a presence.
In this blended strategic and operational role, you will partner with leaders, employees, and the General Manager - People and Culture to deliver high-impact People and Culture initiatives that drive our business strategy, nurture our values, and foster employee engagement. As a trusted advisor, you will lead and influence key workforce strategies, shape organisational culture, and champion diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement, while delivering exceptional operational support to our North Island regions.
Key responsibilities include the following:
Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community partners
Partner with the GM People and Culture and regional leadership to implement workforce strategies, while providing best in class operational support, including leading at times complex ER matters
Drive strategic projects which, dependant on your background, may include such projects as workforce planning, talent and career management, organisational design, or leadership development
Oversee the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and employment agreements for the North Island region, ensuring compliance with NZ employment legislation and best practice
Utilise HR analytics to inform decision-making and contribute to continuous improvement of HR systems and processes
Support the implementation of remuneration frameworks, annual reviews, and recognition programmes to ensure fairness and market competitiveness
Promote a workplace culture of safety, wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion through leadership and proactive initiatives
Participate in ongoing professional development and share industry knowledge to enhance business processes
About you:
Minimum eight-ten years' progressive HR experience, including at least four years in a People and Culture business partner role in a medium to large organisation
Proven expertise in complex ER matters, delivery of strategic People and Culture projects, remuneration, employee engagement, and talent management
Advanced skills in HR analytics, workforce planning, and project management
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or related field (postgraduate or professional certification preferred)
Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of global HR trends
