The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a result driven Senior Site Manager to take lead on site and can demonstrate their ability to deliver high quality project outcomes. You will have proven site management and previous supervision experience with a main contractor on commercial projects of $10m+.
As the Lead Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a large commercial industrial project, which involves complex and extensive services. You will lead, motivate, and mentor a team of up to 10 staff, including site managers, engineers, and technicians, and will coordinate with the client, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
You will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the quality and safety standards the pursuit of excellence, zero accidents and zero re-work is part of the site culture.
This is a full-time permanent position guaranteeing you 40 hours per week. Fixed Remuneration Indication: $155,000 - $165,000 (inclusive of base salary, vehicle, company medical scheme) depending on experience and qualifications.
Key duties:
- Plan, organise, and manage the site activities and resources, including staff, equipment, and materials
- Monitor and control the project progress, budget, and quality, and report any issues or risks to the Project Manager
- Ensure that the site complies with all relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards, and implement and enforce the health and safety policies and procedures
- Communicate and collaborate with the client, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders, and resolve any conflicts or disputes
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the site team, and foster a positive and productive work environment
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, and ensure that the site is clean, tidy, and secure
- Review and approve the site documentation, such as drawings, specifications, reports, and records
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, innovation, and best practices
Skills and qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a specialist lead role in relation to management of site functions, preferably in large commercial industrial projects. E.g. Project Engineer or Lead Site Manager
- A proven track record of delivering complex and challenging projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with the quality and safety standards
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse and high-performing team
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with various stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other relevant tools and applications
- A valid driver's licence and a willingness to travel to different sites as required
